today is the day
November 7, 2006UPDATE: The Supreme Court candidates are NOT in alphabetical order, at least on the ballot I voted on. Beckering was last. So either alphabetize it yourself or just remember Beckering and Cavanaugh.
+++++
On the drive to school and work this morning, I see that new signs have sprung up on lawns which already sported signs for Democratic candidates: TODAY’S THE DAY – VOTE DEMOCRATIC. Amen to that.
If you haven’t queued up yet, jot down these names: Beckering and Cavanaugh. They are candidates for Supreme Court who have been nominated by Democrats, but since it’s a non-partisan position, their party affiliations won’t appear next to their names. Mnemonic for you: they are the two first names alphabetically.
I’ll be going to the polls early this afternoon, but you’ve got til 8:00, folks. Find your polling place at publius.org if you don’t know where it is. Now get out their and vote!
