I finally gave up on iTunes for video podcasts. I have been unable to make subscribing to video podcasts work satisfactorily. Ok, I haven’t been able to make it work much at all. And a day without zefrank is just more than I’m willing to bear!

It was downloading the podcast files fine, but when I would click on an item to play it, the lag time was completely unbearable. I’m talking 10 or 15 seconds. And forget switching from one item to another - to get it to realize I wanted to play a new item, not the one that was currently highlighted, I had to go to the music library, select a track there to ‘unstick’ everything, then go back into podcasts and select the one I wanted.

Frankly, I just got tired of it. Way too much of a pain. All I was trying to do was to play a Quicktime file that resided on my hard drive. It shouldn’t have been that difficult. So now I’ve subscribed in Google Reader and that seems to work just fine. I click play, it plays. Not rocket science, Apple - you should really work on that one.

They may be the alma mater, but oh man - what were they thinking spending $4 million dollars for this coach? so they could look like they sent the JV team out?
