the man I love As of yesterday, I’ve been married to Keith for 4 years. We celebrated last night with big martinis at the bar at Cafe Felix (him Picasso, me Martini Felix) and then over to Miki for sushi. We told the cute little server that it was our anniversary and told her the amount we wanted to spend and just had the chefs make up something for us. It was wonderful - she brought out this huge boat (it really was shaped like a boat!) full of sashimi and an auxiliary tray of nigiri. It was out of this world.

Schakolad was on the way back to the car, so we stopped. It was really quiet - just us in there - and we were feeling great (and warm and fuzzy and lovey) and the Shoop Shoop song (not Cher, the original) was on the radio and I was singing to Keith as he picked out some chocolates. After we paid, the man behind the counter grinned and said that since I sang for my sweetie, he was going to give us extra chocolates. Wow! So we picked out a couple more and went home very happy.

[An aside to those who recently heard me saying I couldn't find anything to like about Ann Arbor anymore. I take it back - I do like the small town, homey, human parts of it sometimes, the parts that make the above kind of evening possible.]

Once home, we ate some chocolate, curled on the couch and watched one of my favorite Dr. Who episodes (Love & Monsters). It’s one told from the perspective of an outsider, not the Tardis crew, and it has a very sweet love story in it. It also features some ELO music, including Mr. Blue Sky. Well, I tell you what - as far as I’m concerned, I’m married to my very own Mr. Blue Sky and living out our own very sweet love story. Keith really brings so much joy and love and sunny blue skies into my life. It’s awesome.

Hey there Mr. Blue, I’m so pleased to be with you, look around, see what you do, ev’rybody smiles at you. Thanks for a stunningly wonderful four years, dearie - I’m looking forward to many, many more.

Forget the old cartoon, forget any hint of serious intent and go watch this movie for the sheer technicolor delight of it. It's beautiful, it's fast, it's silly (in the good way), it's exciting and inspired. Go Speed go!
