crimetrek
November 5, 2006I like to watch crime shows on tv, especially Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Goren and Eames are my favs – that show is so interestingly written and the puzzles are good and the acting is great and oh, what a treat.
One of the other shows we watch now and then is CSI: Miami. It’s enjoyable, but on such a different level. David Caruso is so delightfully camp. Oh, the meaningful looks – oh, the arched eyebrows. He’s the new William Shatner!
In fact, that whole show is just a revamping of Star Trek, I think. The blond lady, the one who is very analytical and not emotional – Spock. Khandi Alexander, the lead examiner, is Scotty. And then there’s an assortment of faithful and ethnically interesting sidekicks.
But Caruso is just a hoot – the overacting, the too-serious tone, the bad-guy threats – boldly going where no coroner has gone before.

I really have to think about that, “He’s the new William Shatner” I have to give this some time and deep thought.
I’m tellin’ ya, it’s the same, beautiful, over the top camp as Shatner.
[...] Okay, watch this compilation, if you dare. Or if you can stomach it. And then tell me if I’m wrong about Caruso being the new Shatner. (If you can’t stand the whole thing, watch the last 20-25 seconds. You’ll be a believer after that.) View This Video on You Tube [...]
