speed racer

reviews Forget the old cartoon, forget any hint of serious intent and go watch this movie for the sheer technicolor delight of it. It's beautiful, it's fast, it's silly (in the good way), it's exciting and inspired. Go Speed go!

apple mighty mouse

reviews Been using one for almost 4 months now. Hate it deep, hate it true. Scroll wheel is super flaky (as in, randomly doesn't work). Eats batteries like there's no tomorrow. Thumbs down on this puppy.

the golden compass

reviews Absolutely gorgeous, talking animals so well done, awesome story, fabulous heroine, & Kidman makes the best villainess. And Gandalf as the guardian bear - must see, folks.

the henry ford

reviews Lincoln's death chair, Kennedy's death car, Fuller's aluminum house and other random artifacts from a crazy rich man's attic. Interesting but outright weird.

the bourne ultimatum

reviews Dialog, schmialog. Only the bare necessities of plot in this one, with terrific result. Best chases and action scenes evah. Exciting, fun and what a summer movie should be.

blueprint, a css framework

reviews Blueprint is a css-only grid layout system. Better than any I've seen. Still has non-semantic divs, and source ordering is so-so, but intuitive and quick as a whip to create layouts.

churchill downs

reviews Not as manicured as Santa Anita, but full of history and incredibly friendly people, not to mention some gorgeous horses. Sport of kings indeed!

person pitch

reviews Newish disc from Panda Bear. Great morning music. Fresh and bright, the essences of The Beach Boys and the Benedictine Monks synthesized.

safari for windows

reviews Had to hack the font file to get it to work. Text rendering is utterly abysmal, nigh unto unreadable, but may be due to aforementioned necessary hack. Unimpressed thus far.

trader joe’s bay blend coffee

reviews Dark, roasty almost burnt taste. Full, black body - holds a dash of cream beautifully. A bit acid-y for my system, especially in the morning. But overall, a terrific in-your-face coffee.

notes that Plum Market has various Pepperwood wines on sale, 2 bottles for $10. Good stock-up price, if you like them. 22 mins ago
