Bookmarks for October 30th through November 2nd
November 2, 2008These are my links for October 30th through November 2nd:
- Read all about it: Simpler fonts make simpler tasks | Booster Shots | Los Angeles Times – They use the word 'simple' to describe the font; I think it may lean toward 'legible.' Would love to know if there were differences in perception on in more subtle match-ups – Arial vs. Times (both supposedly very readable) and Arial vs. Brush Script (the latter being a display font, not a body text font).
- Majikthise : The McCain spokesman and the phantom antisemite – "The McCain campaign is attacking an innocent academic in a way that can only be described as racist.
The man has done absolutely nothing wrong. Yes, he's pro-Palestinian. That doesn't make him a terrorist. Yes, he has been critical of Israel's human rights record in Palestine. That doesn't make him an antisemite.
If John McCain is too ignorant or too bigoted to see the difference between an academic critic of of the Israeli occupation and a terrorist, he's even less fit to be president than I thought."
- Olbermann on Palin: Socialist, fraud – Countdown with Keith Olbermann- msnbc.com – "Who was the collectivist share-the-wealther, who was boasting to the reporter visiting from "The New Yorker Magazine,"of having been able to send a check for $1,200 to every man, woman and child in the state since, quote "Alaska is sometimes described as America's socialist state, because of its collective ownership of resources?”
Why, you said that, Governor! You're a share-the-wealth, collectivist, Almost-Socialist-Governor, Governor! Who also believes that income, property, inventory and investments, collectively belonging to everybody else, leads to a misuse of power, and government making decisions for us, turning countries into places where the people are not free.
Places like, Sarah Palin's America! Governor, all sorts of choice words apply here: hypocrite, double-talker, snake-oil seller, socialist. But let me stick with just one, with which to bid you goodbye. You, governor, are a fraud."
