a sign of things to come

We have a complex family life, as it is divided across two households. It works, and I think we’re all pretty happy with our current crazy schedule, but it has had its downsides. However, as the boys get more independent, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

musselsMy favorite restaurant in town, The Earle, has a happy hour where they serve a big bowl of mussels (steamed in white wine with onions and tomatoes) for $2.50. However, the special only runs ’til 6:30, although regular happy hour (20% off!) continues on til 8:00. With our crazy kid schedule, it’s been impossible to get over there before 6:30 to enjoy it.

Until now.

I can’t tell you how pleasing this was after a long day. Two big bowls of mussels each for $10. And two big Cuervo margaritas each for $24. Had we chosen wine instead of tequila, it would have almost been like Paris. What a relaxing and civilized way to kick off the weekend.

They may be the alma mater, but oh man - what were they thinking spending $4 million dollars for this coach? so they could look like they sent the JV team out?
