I sometimes get asked to create html emails for my clients. I caution them about the perils - some people turn html off, it won't look the same for all readers - and do all I can to dissuade them, but sometimes they still insist.
It used to be that you could write one and test it in IE and be pretty assured that it would look correct for the thundering hordes of Outlook users. Outlook used the same html rendering engine as IE, so it was usually pretty close. But Microsoft went and changed the html rendering engine in Outlook 2007. What did they use instead of IE? Word. Yes, Outlook 2007 uses ...
A while back, Ed Vielmetti amended a Greasemonkey script to add a link to the Ann Arbor District Library on various sites like IMDB, so that you can see if a movie you 're looking at is available there. The old script no longer worked (IMDB had a big redesign), so I grabbed the new Movie Dude script and Ed's old script and reinserted Ed's code into the new Movie Dude code. Frankenstein, baby, all the way.

Newish disc from Panda Bear. Great morning music. Fresh and bright, the essences of The Beach Boys and the Benedictine Monks synthesized. Had to hack the font file to get it to work. Text rendering is utterly abysmal, nigh unto unreadable, but may be due to aforementioned necessary hack. Unimpressed thus far.
