you dig

arts I'd never seen it all the way through - just snips, mostly of the end, as best as I can tell. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was playing today at the Michigan, and Keith was dying to see it on the big screen. So we went. I really wanted to like it. I wanted to see what everyone else seems to see in it. Mostly, I was bored. I mean, there were beautiful shots and some very comic moments. But oh the l o n g meaningful stares. And that whole war thing. Was that really necessary? ...

toujours l’amour

p u iquotes Besides, there's nothing like a good dose of being left alone to make a man appreciate his wife. (Mrs. Morehead, The Women) Get me a bromide - and put some gin in it. (the Countess) Oh baby, oh baby I told ya before, The more I drink whiskey I love ya the more (Lucy)

beer fest in 30 seconds

ann arborraves I put up a bunch of pics from the beer fest at Flickr. Keith was toting his cam all afternoon too and merged his pics and mine into a 30-second video. It makes me giggle. The festival was very good. Absolutely great crowd, everyone friendly and laid-back. I tried lots of different wheat beers, including a 'chocolate wheat' which was, well, gawdawful. It tasted like coffee beer. Maybe good in the winter or something, but all wrong on a hot summer afternoon. The one I liked best was at Lily's - it was not too sweet, had a vague but not overpowering fruit taste (no, it was more like a fruit ...

30 second art fair

and so it begins

ann arbor CRW_6925 Originally uploaded by paanta. Ah yes, another Ann Arbor Art Fair. Oh, the excitement! Oh, the crowds! Oh, the rows and rows and rows and rows of crap! That said, I'm sure we will go take a look at some point. The original Ann Arbor Street Art Fair has promised a return to 'art for art's sake' instead of this gawdawful crafty junk that the 'judges' of the other shows deem to be art.

a note for rss readers

web, tech & gadgets If you read my blog from an rss feed, you should change the url in your reader. I've set up some redirects for the old urls, and hopefully they will work, but you can find the new ones by visiting the page and searching or by going here. As a bonus, there is now a feed for comments!

maybe not

ann arbor We were planning on going to the Townie Party tonight, but this makes it look like it's just not gonna happen. Looks like Après Vous instead. (I live just about where the first A in Ann Arbor is.)

new digs

introspectionweb, tech & gadgets I've ditched Movable Type. I just can't justify paying for a new version when there are terrific free tools out there. So I'm on WordPress now, and frankly, I'm just loving it. This is an 'out of the box' theme by Clemens Orth and I will probably fuss with it, but I think it looks awfully nice as is. I haven't got all my links in yet, and there are probably some broken images here and there. I'll be fixing those up over the next few days, but if you find any, please feel free to write me or leave a comment here. Hope you like the new look and the new features here. I've added ...

They may be the alma mater, but oh man - what were they thinking spending $4 million dollars for this coach? so they could look like they sent the JV team out?
